Watching Their Family Grow: A Lifestyle Newborn Session with Returning Clients
I woke up to a very overcast day and immediately had flashbacks to my first lifestyle newborn session with this family. It was such a dark and rainy morning that we had to scrap the lifestyle portion for their session and move it to another date. Thankfully today was a little different and the sun started to burn through those clouds which it made for some absolutely gorgeous light for an absolutely beautiful session!
From the moment I walked in, big brother was ready for his close up and a true natural in-front of the camera! As with many newborn sessions with older siblings, this one quickly turned into the big brother show!
Instead of trying to contain his energy, we leaned into it. We let him:
- Play peekaboo behind the nursery chair
- Climb into the crib for some pictures with mama…and some solo shots!
- Gift kisses to brothers head
- Play airplane with dad and fly into mama for kisses
The result? Images that feel alive. Real giggles. Real excitement. Real connection. Some of my favorite shots from the day were the in-between moments that show the connection within the family!
These are the moments that matter.
