Celebrating the Big One: A Studio First Birthday Photo Shoot in Pittsburgh

First birthdays are a big deal, and what better way to celebrate this exciting milestone than with a studio photo session in Pittsburgh? A cozy, indoor setting provides the perfect backdrop for those special moments, especially during the colder months when outdoor sessions aren’t as practical.

This was the third cake smash session of the day for me, and it was so fun to see how different each baby was and also how similar. And being that I had the privilege of seeing each of the families last year for their maternity, newborn and Christmas sessions it made the day even more special.

During the last session of the day, the parents were part of the fun, creating memories that go beyond just their sweet little girl. There’s something so amazing about seeing how much mom and dad have grown with their little one, sharing those special moments. The candid shots of family togetherness turned out just as beautiful as the solo photos of the birthday baby!

Of course, no first birthday session is complete without a cake smash! Birthday girl one wasn’t quite sure about the cake at first, but that’s all part of the fun. The messy frosting, the curious pokes, and the sweet expressions are what make these moments so memorable. This studio with the all-white backdrop allowed for a stress-free, enjoyable experience, where every precious moment was beautifully captured. It’s the perfect way to celebrate your baby’s first birthday!
